I highly recommend Amanda! After dealing with 3 out of 5 cats peeing outside the box for nearly two years due to recurring UTIs, bullying and other behavioral issues, I was at the end of my rope. I thought I had tried everything but after talking with her and making the changes we discussed together, I was able to get down to a 90% reduction in peeing and I'm still making progress. Amanda is very knowledgeable and working with her made me realize how little I knew about cat behavior and language despite working in a shelter and owning cats most of my life. She was also incredibly supportive mentally and emotionally, always there to answer a text or email when I was having a meltdown because I had a setback or was feeling overwhelmed. Her expertise regarding cat behavior is unmatched. She was able to explain more in depth the dynamic of our household with five cats and why Banjo was marking and hissing at the other cats. She also was very reassuring in that we were nowhere near having to rehome our cat Banjo, which I in particular had been stressing about. Amanda gave some wonderful suggestions to help us get Banjo even more comfortable in his home. She also brought up the fact that we had him less than a year and that the dynamic still need some time to even out which was a great point. Since Amanda left, banjo has been hanging out downstairs while we are at work which is not something he had typically done. He would always stay up in "his" room, but now he is more social with the other cats and even playing and sleeping near them! We still have some cat-ifying to do in the house but I'm very confident that Banjo will only continue to improve with Amanda's suggestions. She also provides a wonderful write-up after the meeting which was super helpful to have. If you have behavioral issues with your cat, I highly recommend hiring Amanda. She helped me realize that while some cats can benefit from medication, it's not always what you need to resort to. I'm so glad we reached out to her first before going down that route.

Amanda is the best. From the moment she arrived at our door, we could tell she was tuned in to our cats. While they usually run and hide, they stayed relaxed and observed her with interest. We were having trouble with one of our cats urinating indoors. We had tried everything we could think of, including many vet visits and tests, and reached out to a behaviorist as a last resort. After just one visit, Amanda correctly diagnosed the problem and gave us a set of actions we could take. Her instructions were easy to implement and easy to understand. After following all of her instructions, our cat slowly stopped urinating indoors, and after two months we have achieved freedom! I adopted an old cat named Jack at 8 YO. He is around 10 YO now and has had a problem w using the litter box ever since we got him. He chose to urinate on the carpet instead of the box without fail.

As a volunteer at a cat rescue, I've always considered myself pretty savvy when it comes to feline behavior. However, when it came to my own cat, I was running out of ideas and options. We had visited the vet, battled FIC and tried medication but there was a biting problem that I simply couldn't pinpoint the cause of, no matter how hard I tried.

Where do I begin?! I was very lost and about to give up when I first met with Amanda, and we met completely virtually as I am on the west coast! I tried to figure out what was going on and fix the problem by myself for well over a year. My precious Nala just refused to use the litter box, mostly would defecate outside the litter box, but sometimes urinate as well. Things were bad, so I finally decided to try something new and talk to someone other than the vet, someone like Amanda, who was able to focus specifically on Nala, and devote so much time and attention to her issues. In the end, anxiety meds helped my little girl, but having Amanda help guide us through trying new things was beyond worth it. We first wanted to make sure it wasn't something medical, and while I felt like the vet stopped trying to push to figure things out, Amanda was there and helped give new ideas and move things along. She made the vet start caring again. She gave me someone to talk to and who validated all I was doing. The amount of detail and time she put into caring for me and my kitty went well above and beyond what we paid for. Even now, months after, she has checked in. She truly cares about her human and furry patients and I would 100% recommend her to others. I cannot say enough good things about Amanda. She is both deeply dedicated to the work she does and has a true gift for it. I've had my cat CJ for about 11 years, and I am solidly a "crazy cat person." After encountering a resurgence of some challenging behaviors with CJ when my second cat died of cancer last month, I reached out to Amanda for help. I usually struggle to explain CJ's psychology to people, but Amanda "got" her right off the bat, and was able to give me insight to understand her, improve her life, and strengthen our bond. Not just the advice I was seeking, but the whole big picture of CJ's psyche and environment. I was initially worried about how much consulting a cat behaviorist would cost, but the value I got out of my time with Amanda feels like a total bargain. I really feel like this is some of the best money I've ever spent and am excited about applying the interventions Amanda suggested. I contacted Amanda for help managing a reintroduction/integration of my anxious dog, Violet, and a new cat, Daniel. It felt like everything that could go wrong bringing a new cat home did, and my dog has not been comfortable with the new addition, even though she has a history of living with and being friendly with cats. It is worth noting that *I* was also incredibly anxious about the situation. I’d just lost my two longtime cats within six months of each other, the dog had just lost an eye to glaucoma, and I was sleeping in my living room with the dog so that the new cat could be sequestered in my bedroom, based on someone else’s advice. I was very emotional and tired and stressed.
Even though I consider myself cat savvy, I was having a hard time interpreting one of his behaviors. Occasionally, Daniel would pounce/rush at her, and that was really freaking out the dog.

She keyed in on how stressed I was immediately and acknowledged that and put me at ease. I have sent her many videos and pictures and long emails, and she responds quickly with feedback, words of encouragement, and thoughts for next steps. She’s very, very generous with her time.
She also really knows her stuff. I volunteer in an animal shelter and try to stay up to date on animal welfare issues, including various credentials you might see as a pet owner. It’s important to note that literally anyone could make a web site and call themselves a cat (or dog) trainer. But Amanda has earned credentials that indicate her methods are based in science and she knows how to keep your cat’s emotional wellbeing at the forefront.
We’ve only had the initial consult and one follow up but Amanda has given me hope that this is a workable situation. The dog and the cat are not fully integrated yet, but based on Amanda’s feedback, I’m confident the cat isn’t trying to hurt the dog, and with her support, I think we will all be hanging out on the couch eventually.

Amanda was absolutely amazing! We met with her via virtual appointments, and she was extremely thorough. We had been struggling to introduce our two cats, Leo (m, 4) and Boo (f, 1) for about 9 months when we first met with her. I was anxious about Leo chasing and tackling Boo every time the two of them interacted, and I was worried Leo was trying to hurt her. We took videos for Amanda to watch and she told us it looked like they were actually playing, though they were being rough, and needed more time to figure out how to communicate. I'll admit, I was still a little skeptical but after lots of struggling (us), set backs (cats), and Facebook messages, Leo and Boo have been coexisting together for 2 weeks! (It's a big deal to us.) And I've learned that Boo isn't really hurt, she's just dramatic. We're so much happier, and we can tell our cats are too. I recently adopted an older Bengal cat and was having issues with her peeing randomly about the house-Took her to the vet and everything was good. They told me it was a behavioral issue. I am in a difficult situation with 4 cats. 3 have been separated for 2 1/2 years and I was working with her for the last year. I have 2 formerly feral felines and Aubrey the eldest was especially fearful so much so that she only stayed upstairs for years after V (the young one) came to live with us. Working with Amanda has been a fabulous experience. I have two male cats who got along well for years and then randomly couldn't be in the same room together without getting into a fight. I felt lost and frankly completely distressed. I didn't know much about cats and behavior, so I wasn't sure what to do. Luckily I found Amanda on Facebook and thank god! I have two adult cats who are from the same litter, I rescued them when they were 3 months old. About 2 years ago, we started having issues with one of my boys peeing outside of the litter box, on the same guest bed or in the bathroom. It would come and go in waves. We ruled out any medical issues, made some environment changes my vet had recommended and even started him on medication. Something needed to change so I found Amanda through a Google Search. I have already called my vet and told them about her services for any other clients who may benefit.
She was so encouraging and thorough and really took the time to listen to my needs/concerns. After sending her countless videos and pictures, she gave me some recommendations along with thorough explanations of why he was acting the way he was. After immediate implementation, my cat stopped peeing outside the box. She had warned me this may take some time but to both of our surprise, results were instant. He is even now off medication and like a whole new relaxed cat! He has one accident since meeting with Amanda and we are now going on 3 months!!

Our 10 month old cat, Liam seems to like her, but would play very aggressive with her. Unfortunately, we lost our older cat Chloe 2 months ago. Our cat Maple was over grooming herself and had failed several anti anxiety meds and diets suggested by the vet. That’s when I found Amanda. She helped establish a detailed timeline of major changes in Maple’s life including moving houses, the birth of my sons, and job changes. With her expertise we were able to pinpoint a tipping point (when my second son learned to walk) that becoming the “4th child” became too much for her and she started over grooming as a stress response. Amanda gave us resources to teach the kids about feline body language so they would know when Maple did not want to be pet. She also encouraged me to involve the kids in her behavior plan. . About two months into incorporating these and several other recs from Amanda, Maple is so much more relaxed and content and her fur is starting to grow back! My Kitty Hayden was having idiopathic cystitis flares for a little over a year. No underlying cause except for behavior and stress. Amanda was recommended to me by my Pet sitter. She came to our house and immediately pegged Hayden with ‘pride placement’ worries. He did not really know how he fit into the group of my 3 cats and also declares everything as his including me and my husband. With some coaching on playtime, litter box placement, and preventing root cause stress Amanda helped us navigate his reactions to his stress related to ruling and controlling his world. We also had a big snowbird trip driving from CT to FL with the boys and having a new home for 6 months. Amanda coached ME through that prior to the trip and again when he had a flare of cystitis in Florida once we arrived. Amanda was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We’d been feeling stuck getting our two cats to integrate, and she helped us figure out when we needed to intervene and when we needed to give them space to have a ‘cat conversation’. We asked her to come out after we’d been trying to integrate them for almost six months - we’d made progress but couldn’t leave them together for more than a minute or so. After seeing Amanda, they finished integrating to being out all day together in less than a month! Absolutely well worth the cost.

After talking to our vet about possible anxiety in one of our three cats, we were encouraged to reach out to a behaviorist before trying meds and thank God we found Amanda. We have three cats, two 2 1/2 year-old sisters and a two-year-old boy. our little boy was having problems with urinating on our bed and we thought we tried everything, nothing had worked, he was also struggling with confidence often being submissive to his sisters. One of our girls also struggles with her weight. When Amanda came for our assessment she made a few suggestions including adding a litter box, moving the litter boxes, and we discussed ways to build confidence. We made almost all of the changes recommended and our little one never had an accident again. During our virtual check-in, we began to discuss feeding and weight loss for one of our girls. Our second home visit changed everything. Amanda helped us create a new feeding routine and we discussed nutritional goals. She also modeled multiple activities and interactions with all three of our cats to further support our little one in building boundaries and confidence. Now they are doing way better than expected with the new eating routine and have become much more respectful of our little boy and he has been so much more confident holding his space. One of our girls even got on the bed when we did treats at night for the first time ever with the others she usually stays on the floor until they are done. Our baby boy has become much more affectionate with me as well which is so nice because he was much closer to my partner before we began working with Amanda. I took Clarice from a shelter, after she spent 800+ days there, in her cage, afraid of all other animals and humans, apparently, feral. When Amanda and I started discussing setting up her room, Amanda advised me on every piece of Clarice's life -- food, toys, hiding places, the placement of her "real estate", food, and toilet, cat trees, etc. After a second strategic relocation of her furniture, Clarice started making sharp progress upwards, warming up towards the house and me, and she has advanced so well that we both are amazed and thrilled. She has turned from a scared little kitty into a beautiful kitty with shiny eyes who is enjoying her life, and seems relaxed most of the time. We are so grateful for all of the help that we have gotten from Amanda at frisky feline! Our boy Iroh, has had a lot of issues to deal with. He has been pretty timid of loud noises. When he first got to us, he was scared of people, timid, and peed in every corner of the house he could find.
He was peeing on every piece of fabric in the house, peeing on top of laundry piles, and peeing outside of the litter box on top of the mats. We were given a bunch of other helpful tips and exercises to do with him. We did, and he started going inside of the box! We were so proud of him! That’s just one of many pieces of advice we were told to follow, and each suggestion brought us progress with our cat. Pretty soon, he stopped having accidents altogether!
We followed Amanda’s advice as best as we could, and she was so helpful and understanding to our situation! I truly don’t know where we would be without frisky feline. Nothing is perfect, but we are willing to take the long journey because we care about Iroh. He no longer has accidents outside of the litter box. We are still working on his socialization skills, but he has come a long way in every aspect since we have rescued him, and we are so proud of him, and we know that his anxiety is reduced based on the accidents.
He is getting more playful as the days go on, and we hope to bring more of that out of him.
We have two other cats in our house that Amanda has helped us tremendously with, but we wanted to share Iroh’s story because frisky felines has helped us rescue him in so many ways.

After my 17-year-old cat passed away I wanted to get another cat for our resident cat “Goldie” who lived with another cat her entire life. A few weeks later, we adopted “Olive” thinking she would be a nice companion for Goldie. Well, that did not turn out too good. Goldie was miserable and immediately acted out growling, hissing and hiding. Olive at times would chase/stalk Goldie. I was at wits end. Our veterinarian suggested reaching out to a cat behaviorist.

I think it's safe to say that our cat problems were somewhat extreme. Due to past trauma, Cat 1 was terrified of Cat 2, and when her companion dog passed away it was the final straw - she went on top of the fridge and stayed there for 6 weeks. I had to put a litter box up there, she literally never came down. The rescue I adopted Cat 2 from tried to help but all tricks were exhausted. I was desperate - I'd had 1 since she was 3 weeks old, and 2 had been in 7 foster homes before us, through no fault of her own - rehoming either was out of the question. I stumbled upon FFBC in a google search and the rescue manager attended my first appointment with Amanda, secretly expecting to take 2 away with her to rehome, but instead an important contact was made in the shelter cat world, and my girls were set on a path to a peaceful home. Amanda guided and encouraged me through the process of rebuilding 1s confidence and reintroduction, and month after month baby steps were made, and 1 is now confident enough to nap in a sunny spot on the couch. We're still a work in progress, but we've come so far, and I really believe the girls will be playing together soon. I'm so grateful to have found such a brilliant and kind cat expert.

I was impressed with her easy to implement suggestions and appreciated that she sent follow up emails with direct links to any products she recommended. She checked in frequently between our session and follow-up appointment and always provided spot-on observations and insight. Additionally, Amanda helped me with a few tricky foster kitten questions I had and was spot on. If you are struggling with any feline behaviors, I would not hesitate to make an appointment. Amanda is a cat's angel on earth! I've witnessed cats that where untouchable and completely shut down. With a few sessions with her, she brought them out of their shell to the point that they could be pet for the first time in years. The progression videos she's creates will melt your heart! She is so incredibly passionate about enriching cats lives. I was a veterinary technician for a few years and cant tell you how many times we needed to recommend a behaviorist and couldn't find one in the area. I highly recommend her services.

Amanda has been such a great human to work with. I had some redirected aggression and hyperactivity issues with my 6 and 8 year old cats. Amanda is extremely knowledgeable about cat behavior! I have had lots and lots of cats over my lifetime but still could not figure out how to stop my Louie from doing his business where he was not supposed to. Amanda spent so much time learning about Louie and his cat siblings, and giving advice on what we should do. His behavior has improved tremendously with the adjustments that Amanda recommended. I had done a ton of research to try to solve the problems myself. While I learned a lot from my own research, it wasn’t enough and I wish I had just started with Frisky Feline.
