I have two adult cats who are from the same litter, I rescued them when they were 3 months old. About 2 years ago, we started having issues with one of my boys peeing outside of the litter box, on the same guest bed or in the bathroom. It would come and go in waves. We ruled out any medical issues, made some environment changes my vet had recommended and even started him on medication.
Something needed to change so I found Amanda through a Google Search. I set up a free 10 min consultation and the rest was history. I cannot recommend Amanda and Frisky Feline Behavior Counseling enough! I have already called my vet and told them about her services for any other clients who may benefit.
She was so encouraging and thorough and really took the time to listen to my needs/concerns. After sending her countless videos and pictures, she gave me some recommendations along with thorough explanations of why he was acting the way he was. After immediate implementation, my cat stopped peeing outside the box. She had warned me this may take some time but to both of our surprise, results were instant. He is even now off medication and like a whole new relaxed cat! He has one accident since meeting with Amanda and we are now going on 3 months!!
She is a wonderful person who cares about your kitties and wants what's best for you and them! If you hare having any hesitation about booking with her......let that go! She is the best and I could not possibly recommend her more!

I highly recommend Amanda! After dealing with 3 out of 5 cats peeing outside the box for nearly two years due to recurring UTIs, bullying and other behavioral issues, I was at the end of my rope. I thought I had tried everything but after talking with her and making the changes we discussed together, I was able to get down to a 90% reduction in peeing and I'm still making progress. Amanda is very knowledgeable and working with her made me realize how little I knew about cat behavior and language despite working in a shelter and owning cats most of my life. Working with Amanda has been a fabulous experience. I have two male cats who got along well for years and then randomly couldn't be in the same room together without getting into a fight. Our cat Maple was over grooming herself and had failed several anti anxiety meds and diets suggested by the vet. That’s when I found Amanda. She helped establish a detailed timeline of major changes in Maple’s life including moving houses, the birth of my sons, and job changes. With her expertise we were able to pinpoint a tipping point (when my second son learned to walk) that becoming the “4th child” became too much for her and she started over grooming as a stress response. Amanda gave us resources to teach the kids about feline body language so they would know when Maple did not want to be pet. She also encouraged me to involve the kids in her behavior plan. . About two months into incorporating these and several other recs from Amanda, Maple is so much more relaxed and content and her fur is starting to grow back! My Kitty Hayden was having idiopathic cystitis flares for a little over a year. No underlying cause except for behavior and stress. Amanda was recommended to me by my Pet sitter. She came to our house and immediately pegged Hayden with ‘pride placement’ worries. He did not really know how he fit into the group of my 3 cats and also declares everything as his including me and my husband. With some coaching on playtime, litter box placement, and preventing root cause stress Amanda helped us navigate his reactions to his stress related to ruling and controlling his world. We also had a big snowbird trip driving from CT to FL with the boys and having a new home for 6 months. Amanda coached ME through that prior to the trip and again when he had a flare of cystitis in Florida once we arrived. Amanda was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We’d been feeling stuck getting our two cats to integrate, and she helped us figure out when we needed to intervene and when we needed to give them space to have a ‘cat conversation’. We asked her to come out after we’d been trying to integrate them for almost six months - we’d made progress but couldn’t leave them together for more than a minute or so. After seeing Amanda, they finished integrating to being out all day together in less than a month! Absolutely well worth the cost.

After talking to our vet about possible anxiety in one of our three cats, we were encouraged to reach out to a behaviorist before trying meds and thank God we found Amanda. We have three cats, two 2 1/2 year-old sisters and a two-year-old boy. our little boy was having problems with urinating on our bed and we thought we tried everything, nothing had worked, he was also struggling with confidence often being submissive to his sisters. One of our girls also struggles with her weight. When Amanda came for our assessment she made a few suggestions including adding a litter box, moving the litter boxes, and we discussed ways to build confidence. We made almost all of the changes recommended and our little one never had an accident again. During our virtual check-in, we began to discuss feeding and weight loss for one of our girls. Our second home visit changed everything. Amanda helped us create a new feeding routine and we discussed nutritional goals. She also modeled multiple activities and interactions with all three of our cats to further support our little one in building boundaries and confidence. Now they are doing way better than expected with the new eating routine and have become much more respectful of our little boy and he has been so much more confident holding his space. One of our girls even got on the bed when we did treats at night for the first time ever with the others she usually stays on the floor until they are done. Our baby boy has become much more affectionate with me as well which is so nice because he was much closer to my partner before we began working with Amanda. Thank you so much for everything, everyone in our home is happier. We know exactly who to reach out to if we ever need more support in the future. This was so worth the time and money we put into it. Amanda was fantastic!! We set up a consult to meet each other first and she let me know her game plan to help! When we had our session she was very thorough in asking questions and trying to get the most info possible to help us come up with a behavior plan for my cat. I took Clarice from a shelter, after she spent 800+ days there, in her cage, afraid of all other animals and humans, apparently, feral. We are so grateful for all of the help that we have gotten from Amanda at frisky feline! Our boy Iroh, has had a lot of issues to deal with. He has been pretty timid of loud noises. When he first got to us, he was scared of people, timid, and peed in every corner of the house he could find.

He was peeing on every piece of fabric in the house, peeing on top of laundry piles, and peeing outside of the litter box on top of the mats. We were given a bunch of other helpful tips and exercises to do with him. We did, and he started going inside of the box! We were so proud of him! That’s just one of many pieces of advice we were told to follow, and each suggestion brought us progress with our cat. Pretty soon, he stopped having accidents altogether!

We followed Amanda’s advice as best as we could, and she was so helpful and understanding to our situation! I truly don’t know where we would be without frisky feline. Nothing is perfect, but we are willing to take the long journey because we care about Iroh. He no longer has accidents outside of the litter box. We are still working on his socialization skills, but he has come a long way in every aspect since we have rescued him, and we are so proud of him, and we know that his anxiety is reduced based on the accidents.
He is getting more playful as the days go on, and we hope to bring more of that out of him.

We have two other cats in our house that Amanda has helped us tremendously with, but we wanted to share Iroh’s story because frisky felines has helped us rescue him in so many ways.

"I would have lost my sanity and my cat Olive if it were not for Amanda! "

After my 17-year-old cat passed away I wanted to get another cat for our resident cat “Goldie” who lived with another cat her entire life. A few weeks later, we adopted “Olive” thinking she would be a nice companion for Goldie. Well, that did not turn out too good. Goldie was miserable and immediately acted out growling, hissing and hiding. Olive at times would chase/stalk Goldie. I was at wits end. Our veterinarian suggested reaching out to a cat behaviorist.

It was a very stressful period in my household for several months and Amanda always supported not only my cats, but me! Amanda provided valuable recommendations, tools and priceless tips. When we ran into a wall, Amanda always had another suggestion/recommendation/tool to provide. Amanda encouraged me to send videos of my cats. Most of all, Amanda was always available to support me via text, with never ending patience.

It has taking us over nine months to get to this point. We are so happy!
Goldie is back to her super confident, friendly self. Olive calmed down and is respectful to Goldie – Olive has become even more affectionate. Goldie and Olive are now friends. They kiss each other, play and take naps together and eat their meals together. I would have lost my sanity and Olive if it were not for Amanda! I think it's safe to say that our cat problems were somewhat extreme. Due to past trauma, Cat 1 was terrified of Cat 2, and when her companion dog passed away it was the final straw - she went on top of the fridge and stayed there for 6 weeks. I had to put a litter box up there, she literally never came down. The rescue I adopted Cat 2 from tried to help but all tricks were exhausted. I was desperate - I'd had 1 since she was 3 weeks old, and 2 had been in 7 foster homes before us, through no fault of her own - rehoming either was out of the question. I stumbled upon FFBC in a google search and the rescue manager attended my first appointment with Amanda, secretly expecting to take 2 away with her to rehome, but instead an important contact was made in the shelter cat world, and my girls were set on a path to a peaceful home. Amanda guided and encouraged me through the process of rebuilding 1s confidence and reintroduction, and month after month baby steps were made, and 1 is now confident enough to nap in a sunny spot on the couch. We're still a work in progress, but we've come so far, and I really believe the girls will be playing together soon. I'm so grateful to have found such a brilliant and kind cat expert.
